Tips on creating a healthy meal

Not to the knowledge o many but no matter how healthy and rich the ingredients you are using if you don’t know how to prepare you’re dish correctly, you will still end up not availing that nutrients you are looking for.
Preparing a hearty and healthy meal always needs to come from a healthy cooking and sadly a lot of people are not aware of how to cook your food in a healthy way.

Here are some of the steps in preparing  healthy meal:

(1.)  Instead of boiling vegetables, opt to steam it so that the nutrients are retained.

(2.) It is not always recommended to follow the recipe.  There are some ingredients that are bad for one’s health so likely instead of copying all of the ingredients indicated in the recipe, why not improvise?

(3.) Instead of frying, go for grilled. Frying requires the use of oil which mainly contains high levels of  cholesterol, while grilled have none and thus has been always recommended good for the heart.

(4.) Refrain yourself from eating processed foods since these kinds of foods are even though rich in delicious flavour, they are also abundant in harmful fats and preservatives.

(5.) When frying, try to use a dry “wok”. Using wok lets you use a minimal amount of oil and thus if you should use oil opt for vegetarian oils.

Relieving Yourself from Depression

Depression is a state of too much stressed and usually caused by imbalanced neurotransmitters in the brain.  From time to time it is juts normal for us to experience it especially when we have too much work and less time to relax and recharge our body.

Some of the most effective way to cure depression without having the need to depend on artificial drug medications is through exercise. Exercising your body helps release endorphins which according to studies have mood elevating effects.

Instead of focusing on other things when depressed, some people get themselves into alcohol which honestly doesn’t have any good effect when you’re depressed. It actually worsens your depression so when you’re in stress, think more than twice before drinking that glass of alcohol.

Sleeping plays also a vital role in reducing depression. Being able to have enough sleep will likely be able to help anyone to recover from depression since it relaxes your body and mind.

Other than having enough sleep, surprisingly, it is also helpful if your body have enough sunlight. Studies shows that people who are depressed sometimes is caused by SAD or Seasonal Affective Disorder which is a condition experienced when our body receives just a little amount of sunlight or not enough sunlight like during cold months.

Omega-3: Healthy Fat for the Brain

Omega-3 or also known as N-3 fatty acids are essential unsaturated fatty acids that contain a-linolenic acid (ALA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) which are good for the brain. However, even if these types of fats are very essential for the normal metabolism of the body, it cannot be created by the human body and therefore it must be obtained from foods that are abundant from it.

Salmon is one of the foods that are food for the brain. Salmon’s contain omega-3 fats which are considered to be beneficial fatty acids that help the proper development of the brain.

Almonds just like Salmon’s and other fatty fishes are abundant in omega-3 fat acids. Other foods which are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids are cereal grains and pastas, legumes, butternuts, caviar, chia seeds, oregano dried spices, mackerel, spotted seal, raw radish seeds, and more!

One should definitely take note that these types of fatty acids cannot be synthesized or produced by our body so by all means we need to have it from other foods such as salmons of course. Omega-3 are fats which are highly concentrated to help the brain to function properly.
